Shuttle Bus Information
A shuttle bus runs once a day between the hotel and JR Oboke Station. Reservations are required for pick up and drop off.
Place: Entrance to JR Oboke Station. Departure time: 15:10 (The ride to Hotel Iyaonsen takes about 30 minutes.)
*Guests cannot take the shuttle bus without a reservation.
The following trains are the most convenient when using the shuttle bus.

The bus arrives at JR Oboke Station at 10:20. The following trains are the most convenient for departing guests using the shuttle bus.

Iya Valley
In front of Hotel IyaonsenThe emerald-green Iya River cuts a V-shaped ravine through the mountains. Spectacular fall colors robe the mountain slopes and can be enjoyed from both the hotel and a bus or car.

Peeing Boy Statue
5 minutes on footA statue of a boy peeing perches on a precarious outcrop jutting over the gorge. Erected when the Iya road was constructed, it is based on local legends of children and travelers testing their courage on this rock.

Iya Kazurabashi Suspension Bridge
20 minutes by carOne of three such bridges in Japan, it is woven from wild kiwi vines and suspended at a height of 14 meters across a span of 45 meters. Glimpsing the river through the slats is quite thrilling, and on the other side is Biwa no Taki, a legendary waterfall.
