A hotel built on a mountainside in Iya

The hotel is built snugly against the mountain slope. A cable car takes guests to open-air baths along the river at the bottom of the gorge.

*Due to the structure of the building, there is no elevator, only stairs.

Stairs

Due to the steep slope against which the hotel is built, there is no elevator in the hotel.
All floors are reached by stairs.
We apologize for the inconvenience to those who have difficulty using stairs.

The hotel lobby and front desk are located on the 4th floor inside the entrance of the main building.
The hotel's gift shop, which is located near the front desk, offers a selection of souvenirs and

Hideki Kimura, Mural Artist
Born from Kyoto's Rock Music Scene

Born in Izumiotsu City in Osaka in 1942.
Graduated from the Department of Design, Kyoto City University of Arts, and became a lecturer at the same university.
Organized many legendary events in the early days of rock music in Japan.
Became an artist at the age of 60 and has created more than 200 murals in Japan and abroad.

His dynamic paintings reflect his life in the rock music scene.
Rather than painting in a studio, he prefers to use living cities as his canvas.
An unusual artist who advocates the ultimate in amateurism.
His collections include As I Live, Mukamonaka, and LIVE.
